In development: Shop Floor Screens for MDC-Max Web Client

A Shop Floor Screen provides a bird’s eye view of the entire shop floor – see at a glance what machines are running and where issues have arisen.

Last month we released the first version of the new MDC-Max Web Client which included new Operator and Live Screens. Since then we have been busy implementing two new features – real-time Dashboards and Shop Floor Screens. This post will provide an early look at the latter.

A Shop Floor Screen provides a bird’s eye view of the entire shop floor with machines positioned to mimic their physical location. It enables you to monitor all your machines at once and clearly see at a glance what machines are running and where issues have arisen.

Shop Floor Screens in the Web Client will work on any device – desktop, tablet, mobile and TV. On touch enabled devices, a Shop Floor Screen is navigated with standard drag and pinch-to-zoom gestures – just like any maps app. Tap on any machine and an overlay with further machine data is shown immediately.

Creating new or editing existing screens is made as simple as possible. In “edit mode” the topbar becomes blue, tap the machine you want to edit, drag it into position and adjust it’s width, height and rotation – or change it’s appearance from rectangular to circular.

We are excited about this new feature and will keep you posted as we get closer to release.

Update: We expect to release Shop Floor Screens mid-January 2018.
