Operation Parameters
Now we have selected all the external values for the operation and now we need to enter the parameters.
Please press the Parameters button to open the parameters dialog.
Now fill in the two parameter pages with the values shown.
- Tool Orientation: This Defines where the theoretical zero is defined in relation to the tool. Here it is defined at the center of the tool.
- Work Orientation: This Defines how we are working on the part. This operation uses outside, right to left.
- Tool Radius: This is the radius on the tip of the tool.
- Cutting Type: Together with the Work Orientation this defines how we take the cuts. Here we take them both ways which is the most common way with constant cut operations.
- Stock to Leave X: This Defines how much material we should leave in the X direction after the whole operation has been finished.
- Stock to Leave Z: This Defines how much material we should leave in the Z direction after the whole operation has been finished.
- Depth of Cuts: This is the depth of each cut that the operation will try to maintain.
- Overlap: Is the distance that the current cut will move over the previous cut in order to try and make a smooth surface.
- Safe Distance: Is the distance over the part where the tool transitions from Rapid to Feed.
- Make Finish Cut: The operation gives the user the option to take one finish pass. If this check box is checked the finish pass will be made.
- Spacing: This is the depth of the finish cut if this is used.
- Maximum Radius: Is the maximum allowed radius used in the turn-back of the tool.
- Entry Amount: Is the length that the operation starts before the selected contour or axial limit.
- Extension: Is the length that the operation ends after the selected contour or axial limit.
When the parameter values are entered please press Ok to close the dialog.
Now you are ready for the next part of the tutorial.
