Setting up DNC-Max to Run as a Service

First install and set up DNC-Max as always. The installation procedure is the same as when running DNC-Max as a regular program.

The next step is to configure the server and add ports. The only difference here is that programs running as a service cannot normally access network drives using drive letters. Therefore, you must refer to all network drives using their UNC name.

Example: To access the share named NCPROGS on the server PRODSERV1, specify \\PRODSERV1\NCPROGS as the path.

You can change all paths in DNC-Max to refer to the correct UNC path simply by specifying $ROOT as an UNC name.

When you have completed the installation and verified that all ports are configured correctly, you are ready to install the DNC-Max service.
