Terminal settings

Use this dialog to configure the handheld terminal.

COM Port

Select the COM port from this list. In some cases, not all the port installed on the server are shown. This happens if the port is not installed correctly, or if the port could not be detected. Please refer to the on-line help for further information.

Baud rate

Select the baud rate from this list.

Stop bits

Select the number of stop bits from, this list.

Data bits

Select the number of data bits from this list.

Parity

Select parity mode from this list.

Barcode control

Barcode tag (use this as 'Start Tag' in the selected ports remote request setup)

Use this field to specify the string that should be added before passing the barcode to the port.

Normally the string specified here should be the 'Start Tag' in the selected ports remote request configuration.

Monitoring start trigger (Start of the message trigger in the server setup)

Use this field to specify a message start trigger.

It is recommended to use something that is unique and longer than 2 characters.

The start trigger must match the trigger configured in the server operator message configuration.

Allow fast scanning when barcodes ends with CR or LF

Check this fields to allow scanning multiple barcodes quickly.

Barcodes must end with CR or LF.

Strip ASCII 0's

Check this field to strip ASCII 0's before scanning from messages. Check this field if the control is sending 0's before/after the message.

Strip control characters

Check this field to strip control characters (DC codes etc.) before scanning from messages. Check this field if the control is sending control characters before/after the message.

Waiting scan trigger

If you want to use multiple barcode scans, you need to define a trigger (e.g. "MAX"). Then DNC server will wait for a given time before processing received barcodes.

Machine controlled by this barcode reader

Use this to specify which port the barcode data should be re-directed to.

Control multiple machines

Check this field to control multiple machines using a single barcode reader.

When this option is checked the operator must first scan a barcode with the machine name before scanning the data barcode.

Default to 'Control Machine'

Check this field if DNC-Max should default to using the port selected above if no machine name is scanned.

Machine trigger

Use this field to specify a machine trigger. When using a machine trigger the barcode reader can be used to control multiple machines.

First the operator must scan a barcode with the machine name/id followed by a data barcode.

The machine can be specified in the barcode using the machine name or the DNC-Max Machine ID (can be found in the .mch file).

Using the port name with all special characters removed is also allowed.

Example: Machine 'TNP-100 (P4)' can be scanned as 'TNP100P4'.

Machine selection timeout

Use this field to specify the port scanning timeout.

After scanning the 'machine barcode' the operator must scan the data barcode within the specified timeout.

For no timeout specify 0 in this field.
