Associated Files

Associated Files dialog

param

Receive associated files (sub-programs, tool data etc.)

Check this field to receive associated files like tool data and sub-programs together with the main program.

param

Also receive file with extension(s)

Use this field to specify a list of extensions for associated files.

Example: to wait for BDB and BDM files, specify BDB,BDM in this field.

param

Also receive file with filename(s)

Use this field to specify a list of names for associated files.

Example: To associate TOOLFILE.DBD and TOOLDATA.DBD with the main program, specify TOOLFILE.DBD, TOOLDATA.DBD in this field.

param

Do not receive until the following file(s) are ready

Use this field to specify a list of names for associated files that DNC-Max should wait for before receiving the main program and associated files.

Example: to wait for TOOLFILE.DBD and TOOLDATA.DBD, specify TOOLFILE.DBD, TOOLDATA.DBD in this field.

param

Rename using main program name

Check this field to rename the associated files using the name of the main program.

Example: If receiving the main program 100.PBF and the associated files TOOLDATA.DBD, then the server will rename the tool data to 100-DATA-TOOLDATA.DBD. When sending the main program back to the CNC later, the program name prefix is automatically removed from the associated files.

param

Main prg. same name as folder

Check this field if the main program has the same name as the folder.

Extensions on file and folder can be different.

param

Keep sub-directory structure

Check this field if associated files found in subdirectories should be auto imported into the same sub-directories.

param

Receive sub-programs (higher number and same extension as main program)

Check this field to receive programs with a higher number and store them as associated files.

Example: when receiving 10.PBF, 1000.PBF and 1001.PBF, the files 1000.PBF and 1001.PBF will be processed as associated files.

param

Main program has highest number

Check this field if the program with the highest number should be the main program.

param

Scan other auto receive dirs.

Check this field if associated files are located in a directory that is not the same, or a sub-directory, of the main programs directory.

param

Delete empty directories

Check this field to delete sub-directories that become empty after auto importing all associated files.

param

Merge sub-programs into main program

Check this field if the sub-programs should be merged into (appended to) the main program.

param

Wait for associated files (secs)

Use this field to specify how long DNC-Max should wait for the associated files after receiving the main program. If the control saves the associated files at the same time as the main program you can specify a low value like 3 secs here, but if the operator has to manually copy each associated file you will need to specify a value that is high enough so the operator has time to copy all files.

param

Split Siemens .WPD files

Check this field to split Siemens WPD files into multiple files.

param

Start trigger

Use this field to specify the start trigger.

The trigger must contain <> to tell DNC-Max which part of the line to use to generate the filename.

param

End trigger

Use this field to specify the end trigger. The DNC stops receiving when it encounters this character. If the field is left empty, no end trigger is used, and the DNC receives to the end of the file (when a timeout occurs). You can specify the end trigger by entering one or more ASCII characters, i.e. enter '%' (without the ' ') to get ASCII character 37, or you can enter the ASCII value like this '' (again without the ' '). You can specify more than one character like this '$%' or ' '.

The end trigger is the last sequence of characters received

param

Rename main program file

Check this field to rename the main program file using the program name specified inside the file.

If not checked, the main program file will keep the filename of the received file.

param

Auto receive after splitting (ignores program name)

Check this field if the files extracted from the split WPD files should just be processed using a normal auto receive (as opposed to using the name / association in the file).

param

Ignore the following files when importing associated files

Use this field to ignore specific files when importing associated files that would otherwise get imported.

This field can also be used to ensure that 'Delete NCBase associated files on receive' does not delete a specific file.
