No Hype, No Gimmicks at Eastec 2003
Sterling, MA, May 27, 2003 - Attendance was up, moods were positive, and
visitors were treated to better than average weather at the Eastec 2003 show in
West Springfield, MA. Building on last years event, CIMCO Integration
demonstrated DNC-Max, CIMCO Edit, and NC-Base to customers as far away as
Florida and California. Those in attendance got to see first hand why CIMCO
holds the title of Industry Leader for DNC and shop floor automation.
Live Demonstrations
This year CIMCO demonstrated DNC-Max in a wireless configuration to two HAAS
control simulators, bar-code readers, hand-held terminals, and the new DNC-Max
Client Pocket PC Edition. Visitors were impressed with the system. However, even
more impressive was our live web-monitoring demonstration showing, in real-time,
one of CIMCO's wireless customers (a 24/7 Mold and Die Shop) cutting parts with
the assistance of their CIMCO OptiFlex W wireless DNC network. Customers saw 24
and 36 hour cycle times on drip-feeds, live, and were invited to contact the
customer to discuss the reliability of the system. Visitors were also invited to
try out the system for themselves. After a two-minute crash course on remote
request and use of our wireless DNC-Max Client they were set loose to see for
themselves the ease-of-use and benefits of a remote-based, wireless system.
Also available for a test-drive was NC-Base, CIMCO's part program management
tool. A complete database of 100,000+ files was running so visitors could
witness the speed of the system. Then viewers were shown how easy the system can
be used as an integral part of their daily programming routine. Files imported,
created, modified, updated, transferred (via CIMCO Edit or DNC-Max), etc.
Partners @ Eastec
Services Four Automation, our Authorized CIMCO Partner and leading DNC
integrator in New England, was on hand to answer questions
and help with demonstrations. We were happy to see so many of their
customers show up to the show - an indication of why most of their
customers are doing well, they see the value in visiting important shows
like Eastec and keeping up-to-date with the latest news and information
about their business.
CNC Software (Mastercam) and CGTech (Vericut), two of CIMCO's Official
Business Partners, were also exhibiting and showing their latest offerings.
