Re-Imagined Playback Slider in CIMCO Edit 2026
In the latest version of CIMCO Edit 2026 and NC Machine Simulation, we have redesigned the playback slider to make simulation control faster, smoother, and easier to use, along with the introduction of real time simulation. Watch the video below to see how the updated playback behavior works in action.
The simulation now supports true real-time playback. Press Play, and the toolpath runs at 1x speed, meaning one second of toolpath time equals one second of real time. The slider snaps directly to 1x, making it easy to return to real-time playback at any moment.
Playback speed is now shown live while adjusting the slider, and the maximum speed can reach up to 1000x for large toolpaths. For shorter toolpaths, the maximum speed is automatically adjusted to keep control precise and predictable.
A new Fast Mode lets the simulation play from start to finish in just 2.5 seconds, regardless of toolpath length, when performance allows.
Backward playback has also been improved with a smaller, simpler control capped at -10x, ideal for moving back short distances. For larger jumps, users can simply drag the toolpath slider directly.
These updates make simulation playback more responsive, predictable, and intuitive – whether reviewing short operations or navigating very large toolpaths.
