Binary transfer

param

Enable binary transfer

Check this field to enable binary transfer.

When this option is enabled, DNC-Max will process data as a single stream, and not try to break it into blocks when sending or receiving.

This is useful if the control sends binary files like Fanuc FAPT or Brother Conversational data.

X-Modem transfer

param

Enable X-Modem transfer

Check this field to enable X-Modem data transfer.

Some features in the protocol will not work when X-Modem is enabled. These are however normally not needed by controls using the X-Modem protocol.

param

Enable auto receive/remote request

Check this field to enable auto receive and remote request.

When this option is checked, DNC-Max sends a NAK character (ASCII 21) every 3 seconds. The NAK character is used in the X-Modem protocol to signal that the program is ready to receive data. Some control will fail with an alarm if the input buffer is filled. If this is the case disable this option.

When this option is disabled, auto receive and remote request will not work, since the control don't send data until a NAK is received. Sometimes it is possible to overcome this problem by using hardware handshake.

param

Packet size (bytes)

Use this field to specify the X-Modem packet size.

Most controls works with the default value (128 bytes).

param

Check sum type

Use this field to specify the X-Modem packet check sum type.

Most controls works with the default value (Simple).
