Use the following dialog to configure basic port settings.
Use the following dialog to configure basic serial port settings. The serial port settings must match those selected on the CNC. Please refer to the CNC manual for further information.
[PIC:setup_dd4_port:Port settings.]
Select the serial port that is connected to CNC from this list.
In some cases, not all the ports installed on the server are shown. This happens if the port is not installed correctly, or if the port could not be detected. Please refer to [LINK:trouble_port_not_detected] for information on how to use such ports.
Transmission speed, in bits per second. The speed must match that of the CNC.
Number of bits appended after each character to indicate the end of a
selected on the CNC.
Number of bits in each character. The number of data bits must match the number of data bits selected on the CNC.
Parity is a mechanism used for error checking. The parity setting must match the parity setting on the CNC.
bit is '0'. If the character contained an odd number of '1' bits, the parity bit is '1'. The result is that there is always an Even number of mark bits in the character.
If there was a transmission error, and a single bit was sent as '0', but received as '1', then the parity would not match, so the receiving system would know that this character had an error.
the character contains an odd number of '1' bits.
Regular drip feeding of large files is not supported on Deckel Dialog 4. To overcome this problem, DNC-Max can split the NC program into a number of smaller programs, and transfer them to the CNC as the drip feed progresses.
Check this field to enable drip feeding.
Use this field to specify the drip feed program offset. The drip feed offset is used to determine if the requested program should be transmitted using drip feed, or regular DNC transfer.
Example: If you specify 50000 in this field, and wish to drip feed program number 1234, then you must request program number 51234.
Use this field to specify the amount of memory on the controller that should be used for drip feeding. The value specified here must not exceeded the amount on available memory on the control.
DNC-Max splits the NC program into smaller programs, each with a size that is about 1/5 of the amount of reserved memory.
