param

Mazak model

Select the Mazak model from this list.

The following models are supported: M2, T2, M32, T32, M-Plus, T-Plus, M64 (Fusion) and T64 (Fusion).

Note: DNC-Max checks the machine type specified in the program file, and if it does not match the machine type specified here, transmission/reception of the program in canceled (i.e. You cannot transfer a M32 program to a T-Plus control).

param

Enable hardware handshake (RTS/CTS)

Check this field to enable hardware handshaking.

Mazak controls supports hardware handshaking using the RTS/CTS signals. Hardware handshaking is only needed during ISO mode transfers, since the Mazatrol protocol implements software handshaking.

Make sure that the cable that connects the CNC and DNC have the RTS/CTS signals wired correctly, if you check this option.

Note: It is not possible to change the settings for Data bits, Stop bits and Parity from this configuration dialog, since the standard configuration will work with all Mazak models using factory settings. If you need to change any of these settings, you should refer to [LINK:trouble_port_param].

param

ISO wait for XOn

Check this field if DNC-Max should wait for an XOn character from the control before initiating an ISO transmission.

param

COM Port

Select the COM port from this list. In some cases, not all the port installed on the server are shown. This happens if the port is not installed correctly, or if the port could not be detected. Please refer to the on-line help for further information.

Save transmissions with multiple programs in a single file

I you transfer multiple programs from the CNC in a single operation, the programs received will be saved in the same file when this option is selected.

Note: You cannot use Disk Mode when this option is selected.

Save transmissions with multiple programs in multiple files

I you transfer multiple programs from the CNC in a single operation, the programs received will be saved in separate files when this option is selected.

Use this field to specify the transmission mode. For further information, please refer to the on-line documentation.

Manual: The operator must manually select files to send from the DNC administrator.

Remote request: Programs are requested using a special 'remote request' program.

Disk mode: The DNC server simulates a mini disk drive.

param

ISO Transfer mode

Select the ISO transfer mode from this list.

[ISO Transfer disabled]

Select this option to disabled ISO transfers.

When ISO transfer is disabled, any ISO data received will be ignored, and the manual ISO transfer controls in the administration client are disabled.

[Manual]

The operator must manually select files to send/receive from the DNC administrator.

[Remote request/Auto receive]

Using remote request, the CNC operator can request programs from the DNC server.

The CNC operator sends a small program (remote request program) to the DNC, containing information about what program that should be sent back to the CNC.

The program number for remote request programs is specified in the Reserved program number field (see below).

When an ISO program with the reserved program number is received, the server looks for the first comment in the program. The information specified in the first comment is used to determine the name of the program that should be send back to the CNC.

The directory/directories scanned for remote request programs are configured on the Request directories tab. The filename prefix, suffix and extension are configured on the ISO Transfer options tab. For further information please refer to [LINK:pcfg_mazak_requestdir] and [LINK:pcfg_mazak_iso].
