Error in Transmission

Windows NT 4

  1. Goto ‘Control panel’, if ‘ports’ is avaible execute the link
  2. Choose the port in question
  3. Press ‘Settings’
  4. Press ‘Advanced’
  5. Unmark ‘Fifo enable’

Windows 95-98 (all versions)

  1. Go to ‘Control Panel’, execute ‘System’
  2. Find the port under ‘Seriel ports’
  3. Press ‘Properties’
  4. Press ‘Advanced’
  5. Lower the transmit and receive buffers to 1 or disable fifo

Windows 2000

  1. Go to ‘Control Panel’, execute ‘System’
  2. Click the ‘Hardware’ tab
  3. Click ‘Device Manager…’
  4. Click ‘Ports (COM & LPT)’ Click the com-port in question, e.g. ‘Communications Port (COM1)’
  5. Click the tab ‘Port Settings’
  6. Click ‘Advanced’
  7. Set both the Receive Buffer and Transmit Buffer sliders to ‘Low’

If this does not help, your cable might be too long, or it might be placed next to a power cable, giving a lot of noise.
