Troubleshooting

This section will help you solve some of the most common problems with communication between the CNC and the DNC-Max Server.

If going through these sections does not solve your problem, you should contact your CIMCO Software dealer for assistance.

Problem: Serial port(s) missing from list of ports in protocol configuration.
Answer: Read Serial port not detected.

Problem: When trying to send data from the DNC server to the CNC, no data is received.
Answer: Read No data received on CNC.

Problem: When trying to send data from the CNC to the DNC server, no data is received.
Answer: Read No data received on DNC server.

Problem: When trying to send data between the DNC server and the CNC, the received data is garbled.
Answer: Read Garbled data received.

Problem: When trying to send data between the DNC server and the CNC, the data is received as one long line.
Answer: Read Data received as one long line.

Problem: When trying to drip feed, the CNC misses data or alarms out when running.
Answer: Read Trouble drip feeding.

Problem: When trying to send data between the DNC server and the CNC, the server or CNC sometimes reports errors.
Answer: Read DNC/CNC reports transmission errors.

Problem: When trying to send data between the DNC server and the CNC, the server reports lots of errors, but the data looks okay.
Answer: Read DNC/CNC reports many errors.

Problem: How to change serial port parameters when those are not available in the protocol configuration.
Answer: Read Serial port parameters.
